Session 17: Recap and the Take

Session 17: Recap and the Take After their rest in the hut of the empty witch, the party transported the loot—three buckets of magical liquid, and an eerie mirror depicting the starry void. Malichar informed them that the empty witch was likely a demon of Nulfex, the Archon of negation and absence. He believes the mirror to be a device for contacting and holding congress with such entities. Although such items are official proscribed, and thus delicate to sell, he bought it for 1200gp. When the party was leaving, the rival over-merchant Nekalimon advised them not to cast in their lot with black witch Zalvorex, but to seek instead the invisible palace of the benevolent spirit Bazekop. He also offered them a lavender-colored pearl with two little holes as a token of Bazekop’s friendship. Nekalimon informed them that were they ever in trouble, the party should blow through one of the holes and they would receive aid from Bazekop. The party was reinforced by Sir Tresken and the green-skinn

This is a thing of beauty

This is a thing of beauty Originally shared by Dave Sealy Just for fun I made a portrait of my ranger, Aisling Blackwood, in Ben L.'s Ultan's Door game.

This is now the canonical version of the book of poetry you recovered, In the Light of Other Moons. It differs in some ways from what I said before. Especially relevant to Aleksandr Revzin and Chris P.

This is the downtime thread about your conversation with the chittering masons. Comment below to receive information. Let me set the scene: After the agreement is concluded with the Craftsman, the party is conducted along a network of spandrels deeper into the village, arriving at what the Craftsman refers to as "the Archive of Memories". It is one of several larger structures, with multiple bulbs welded together. It spans two major trees, and is supported by numerous cords that run up and down into the forest. The entryway is grand. The larger spaces within are used by the masons in three dimensions, for there are ledges and cords, and hanging steps everywhere for them to traverse over your heads. You are led into a large room. Up on a stage sits the Archivist, a great old mason, huge and gray with years, with wrinkled skin, and milky eyes. Below the stage there are tiers of benches, some of which are occupied by masons. Above, many more sit in hanging hammocks, suspended hi

Campaign News for 9/20/2016 After careful questioning of your new companions, it turns out the root warrens of the mole rats are conveniently on the way to the village of the masons. The root warren is located in hex 1710 of Level 2, beneath the peak of Mount Vanothoe. The village of the Chittering Masons is in Hex 1211 of Level 2, far to the west, near the shores of the Endless Azure Sea. (I have attached the current map of Level 1 for reference. The hex numbers line up on Level 1 and Level 2.) The hut of the Empty Witch is a cozy place to spend the night. After discussing your plans, you eat a nourishing if flavorless meal of heaping bowls of steaming gruel. Spirits are high after your victory against the witch, and there is a feeling of camaraderie about your impending trip into the depths of the White Jungle. Once Selwin is done imperiously directly his linkboy Gerrald to polish his arms and armor, he settles down by the crackling fire to recount an inflated version of the tale of

Guys, I can't do our game this Thursday. It's parent orientation night blah-blah-blah at our son's school. We'll have to pick it up next week. I wish it weren't so.

Session 16: The Empty Witch

Session 16: The Empty Witch The party decided to stake sides in the feud between the witch Zalvorex and the demon Bazekop. Having heard reports from their host Malichar that Zalvorex’s courier Vaz was missing, the party decided to try to hunt him down to win the witch’s favor. Upon further questioning, Malichar reported that Vaz had some business at the northern “shore” of the jungle, where the brambles meet the endless Azure Sea. From there he was to make his way to the pagodas of the hanging merchants. Although he never made it to the pagodas, Zalvorex somehow knows him to be alive. When asking if scrying had been employed, Malichar said that there were vague indications of an interfering agency. When the party asked if Bazikop employed any minions who might have detained Vaz, Malichar said this was entirely possible. Cletus remembered that the submerchant Bulras was selling a hunting vole, and eyeless creature that could pick up scents. He shrewdly asked Malichar if he had anything
