Ben L. How much time do we have until we travel back to the Hanging Palace?

  1. It would be a feeding frenzy
The power players in town would be:
    (1) Valmoreaux, the Captain of the Storm Riders,
    (2) the more powerful Apprentices (Mercurio, Albinus)
    (2) the High Voluptuary
    (3) among the People: the councils leading the Guilds of Hewers and Fishers

Eric Boyd is right that there are other powers with an interest in the outcome—regional enemies of the Chatelaine’s (The Merchant’s Guild, The Grim Duke), and the big power players from afar, most notably the Viridistani (The World Emperor) with whom the Chatelaine is vaguely allied, and the Invincible Overlord who is vaguely allied with The Grim Duke

  2. Yes, unfortunately none of us are powerful enough to seize the reigns on our own, and I've yet to hear anything about a good king.

WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT I SERVE HIM ALL HAIL THE OVERLORD.

  3. Salinger is just in a bit of a haze. "What if I catch the Chatelaine's eye and we become lovers, and I tell her about Zyan, and then I lead an army into it as her general?" He has completely overlooked that as an adventurer he might not have the time to properly train a troupe of dancers.
