Campaign News for 6/30

The tensions mounted between the hewers and the carver, and their respective supporters at court, in the wake of the defeat of the carver's mercenary force. Just when it was reaching the breaking point, the Chatelaine finally took the reins of power again returning to court in a most decisive fashion. In a surprising move, she has sided with the hewers, taking the opportunity to humble the Voluptuaries. The violence has been pinned on a mid-level priest name Gondrogo who Captain Valmoreaux executed with great relish. The High Voluptuary was even made to offer a humiliating public apology for the overzealous action of his underling. The hewers got their higher prices, and trade and production has begun again. (Most of Rastingdrung's trade with Wolsdag and Loktole and points beyond is in timber and fine furniture.)

In a further slight to the Voluptuaries, the Chatelaine has welcomed the charismatic reptilian hero of the hewers to her Court, where he has regaled the notables with preposterous stories about his travels "to the many worlds". He has become something of a folk hero to the lower orders of hewers and fishermen. The Chatelaine too currently benefits from the adoration of the masses.

At the castle, things have become more complicated for Sir Tresken. He has discovered himself the butt of several undignified pranks. Furthermore, whenever he passes by a group of Cavaliers (the title of those who have tamed a war crow) he finds them sniggering and making sly comments. Apparently there is a rumor circulating that he has taken up with the most homely of the handlers in the Aviary, a squinty-eyed, moustached lass named Sara.

Salinger takes the mushrooms to a herbalist named Palmor with a storefront in the Temple District. The pipe falls out of his mouth when he opens the basket. He informs you that these species are entirely unknown, and inquires about their origin. He is willing to take the lot off your hands for 10gp, since he doesn't know what properties they might possess. If he finds that any are valuable he will contact you.

    Then I will further bribe them to delicately hint that Sara is only looking around because she rejected him first, the reason for which being the same one for which he carries an enormous sword to compensate for.

The Riches of Bazekop

Over the last five sessions, our party of daring dreamers plummeted in the aerie depths of the lowest level of the White Jungle on the back of a fleet of giant war crows, violent and wild, with a phalanx of storm rider paladins. Their mission was to loot the invisible tower of Bazekop, Prince of the South Wind. In all honesty, my imagination had begun to wear a bit thin and algorithms repeated themselves, over the course of these sessions. So, I’d prefer to be forward looking here. Campaign News for 5/9/2019

Two weeks pass since you returned from Bazekop's tower with your epic haul. It takes a long time for the items you brought through to be identified, appraised, and for the payouts to the party. In the meantime, the party has been scouting real estate locations, doing research, and pursuing other long term downtime goals. During this time, the party learns of several rumors and events: Since the party's trips to the dreamlands are a state secret, none know the true source of the Chatelaine's newfound wealth and splendor. Wild rumors circulate about the Storm-Riders having won a legendary haul for her. Some say they hunted and slew an ancient dragon that roosted about the shattered isles. Others say that the Storm-Riders ventured in secret through the door in the locked down section of Carver's Quarter around Ultan's Old Print Shop and bring back the riches of the dreamlands.
