Hi all, unfortunately I can't run t his week, because it's my wife's birthday. I tried to schedule our festivities for Wednesday, but that didn't work, so we're celebrating on Thursday. We'll be playing next week, barring an unforeseen catastrophe.

Dozar and the Book Dozar stumbled upon the secret cavern in the bottom of the book well earlier in his desperate searches for a means of egress. After Dozar was freed, and their strange foes dispatched, the party decided to explore this space. Within they found the pure white egg in which Aphrodosius, Nymph of the Seven Worlds slumbered. Salinger cracked the egg, waking her from her divine slumber. Wiping her sleep from her eyes, she informed Salinger that her heart was a book, the crown jewel of the legendary library of the hanging Palace, the greatest library in Wishery. He might read the book if he wished by placing his palm upon her heart, and, were he worthy, this tome would open before him and its wisdom would be his for the taking; but were he unworthy "he would face a terrible trial". I'll be honest, I want to take a peek through that Priaduct that the trio of "Zalvorex-like" interlopers came through.

It seems like a lifetime ago that you first heard about it, when young Ulantanu, the first of your captives from the dreamlands, answered the child witch Adriana’s probing questions. As you step past the eerie, gracious guardian into that palatial chamber, you are struck by its immense airiness. Light streams through huge windows, through which you can see in the distance jungle scenes, thin trunks, like bamboo like forest with thin white fronds, and the interlocking lattice branches you know so well. Immediately before the archway, light falls on a gleaming table of wood of a reddish hue that stretches before you. The chairs and the table are thin legged, with, smooth rounded edges, light and elegant. You can see that a copper band has been set into the edge of the table, inscribed with flowing forms. You know, with ownership of Ultan's we could start inviting new adventuring parties to go through... Anyway, in the massive library. Salinger will begin grabbing valuable and pretty looking books. He can't read, so he has no idea what they are. He'll flip through, looking for pictures of anything that relates to us; anything resembling stuff in the Lunar Caverns, a how-to to maintaining the puppet suit we captured, folktales on resisting the Necromantic Moon, an encyclopedia of Zyanese mask designs, children's tales about wily kids that outsmarted the Hidden King, etc. Also, volumes and folios of light weight and much gilding or bejeweled covers.

Great game last night. I really enjoyed myself, and even though I was somewhat in the dark when it came to many specific references, this some how made it more fun. I'm looking forward to the next game. E.

A year and eight months later, we have the Evocation of the Doomed City in hand. Adriana is bound to win at the Festival of Sybarites, so we don't need to assassinate anyone!
